Consistency in working out

consistency in working out

After about a month of exercising everyday, I’ve found a good rhythm. I start by doing some light stretching and then run through the Spartan 300 workout routine. It took me about a month to finally get strong enough to lift the prescribed weight. I also added rowing after my workouts. I read that it’s best to do cardio after your workout so you’re able to maximize your lifting and limit possibly injuring yourself.

The first few times on the rowing machine were rough. I’d never done rowing before and lasted only a couple minutes. After a week, I found a good pace for me and started to increase the distance. Every day I’ve been trying to increase my distance by 10 or 20 meters which just adds a few more strokes.  I am now up to 4000 meters and will cap the distance when I reach 20 minutes on the machine. I average about 500 Meter per 2 minutes so I am guessing I will cap out at around 5k. I use the single distance function at the moment, but once I build myself up to 5K I am going to just set the timer for 20 minutes and try to beat 5k each time I row.

I was a fit young man and then kids happened. I don't want to be a fat dad so I am making systems to keep myself fit.
