Between work and family it can be pretty hard to keep fit, so instead of trying to commit to drastic changes all at once, I told myself that I will start with sleep as I figured the best way to get healthy was to start with getting enough sleep. Getting enough rest would mean being less tired during the day and having increased energy would mean I would snack less and probably be more likely to want to exercise.
The first few days were frustrating to say the least. I was laying in bed, but couldn’t fall asleep. This made me decide to try a sleep aid. I tried a few different products and found this one called E-Z NITE Sleep spray to work the best. It has melatonin, l-theanine, valerian root and magnesium, all the sleep supplements that I’ve been reading about plus CBD which you always hear about.
It knocked me out after about 15 minutes and I didn’t have any morning grogginess. I used it every night for the first couple of weeks and once I got into the habit of sleeping by ten, and now I only use
it when my brain wouldn’t turn off. Currently, I only use it maybe once or twice a week max.
The only other thing I think worth mentioning about making my sleep habits was that I had to tell my wife what I was doing. We usually spent a lot of time together after the kids went to bed so this new schedule definitely cut into that time. It was a little rocky the first couple weeks, but I found that it made me be more deliberate in my time with her and it helped me cut out wasting time dinging off on my phone. She started using the sleep spray too and we’re both getting better rest and it has made us happier as a whole.
